 Zipdata Backup Software is installed in your computer server. File selection and retention policies are easily set using a get started wizard. An initial backup baseline is produced. The backup stream is compressed using a very efficient algorithm designed to reduce time and disk space utilization. 2 gigabytes database files can easily become 100 mbytes. On the other hand, graphics, movies, pdf’s, and sound files do not compress well as they are already highly compacted. The compressed data is encrypted using an extremely secured algorithm. See below for technical details. The bottom line is that only you have access to your backups. A daily snapshot of file changes is sent to our primary datacenter. Your administrator receives email confirmation of success or failure. We synchronize all daily backups with our secondary datacenter daily as well. We also backup all the archives weekly and keep these tapes for 90 days. We perform yearly offline backups that are kept for 8 years. We check our logs daily and notify you if we experience a trend of errors or warnings from your servers within 3 days of failure. |
